Ground Beef with Homemade Taco Seasoning Mix
The perfect ground beef taco recipe! Taking just a little extra time to make homemade taco seasoning makes all the difference; spoon into flour or corn tortillas and serve with your favorite toppings.
Ingreadient
- 2 teaspoons dried minced onion
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- ½ teaspoon cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon ground cumin
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (Optional)
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (Optional)
- ¼ teaspoon dried minced garlic
- ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ cup water
Direction
- Gather all ingredients.
- Mix minced onion, salt, chili powder, cornstarch, cumin, red pepper flakes, cayenne pepper, minced garlic, and oregano in a bowl; set seasoning mix aside.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir ground beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 7 to 10 minutes. Drain and discard any excess grease.
- Pour water and seasoning mix over beef; stir to combine. Bring to a simmer and cook until mixture thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.
